COME TASTE THE BAND, feat. DOOGIE WHITE (Rainbow)

Special Guest Star, JOE LYNN TURNER (Deep Purple / Rainbow)

Get ready for a terrific and star-studded concert specially ordered for the Notodden Blues Festival's Rock Day! There will be blues inspired classic rock with some of the biggest stars in the industry. In January, Come Taste The Band released their much-anticipated album "Reignition" together with vocalists Doogie White of Rainbow / Michael Schenker Group and Joe Lynn Turner with the legendary Deep Purple.

Come Taste the Band (CTTB) was founded in 1997 by guitarist Jo Henning Kåsin and vocalist Vidar Heldal. During the first years the crew also consisted of bassist Ståle Naas, Eldar Melkvik on organ and Frode Flatland on drums. In these years, CTTB was a Deep Purple tribute band and launched several releases with Deep Purple material. From 1997 to 2007, Come Taste the Band did hundreds of concerts in Scandinavia.

In 2007, CTTB was invited by the Kart Festival to do a concert with former Deep Purple singer / bassist, Glenn Hughes. This concert resulted in a collaboration that stretched to 2010, when Hughes started Black Country Communion with Joe Bonamassa. Glenn Hughes & Come Taste the Band did 4 tours with Deep Purple songs on the program.

In 2011, CTTB joined former Rainbow / Deep Purple singer JOE LYNN TURNER. JLT & CTTB toured Scandinavia in 2012-2014 and presented both Rainbow and Deep Purple songs.

On days off during the tours, Joe Lynn Turner, Jo Henning Kåsin and Ståle Naas started writing new material. This resulted in two new songs, "Tied down" and "Don’t let me bleed" - both songs now featuring on CTTB`s new album "Reignition".

In 2014, CTTB also did two concerts with the vocalists Doogie White (Rainbow / Michael Schenker), Graham Bonnett (Rainbow) and Norwegian Jørn Lande. Come Taste the Band has changed their crew several times, but guitarist Jo Henning Kåsin, bassist Ståle Naas and singer Vidar Heldal have been involved all the time.

In 2017, CTTB celebrated its 20th anniversary with two sold out concerts together with former Whitesnake guitarist, Bernie Marsden and Doogie White. After these concerts Jo Henning Kåsin and Doogie White started writing songs together. In the fall of 2017 Come Taste the Band was signed at the German company AOR Heaven and recorded 7 new songs with Doogie White as a vocalist, in addition to 2 with Joe Lynn Turner.

We’re really looking forward to this one of a kind, out of this world concert with legendary artist, Friday August 2nd.
