Bigbang to the opening of Notodden Blues Festival 2019
Bigbang will be back for full in 2019 with a new album, documentary film and high-profile festival gigs. It is wonderful to be able to announce that the Notodden Blues Festival will be part of this summer's festival tour of this popular band. Earlier this year, Bigbang released the first single from the upcoming album. The song "Glory Chord" shows a band in great form and that goes back to its roots with catchy rock and blues inspired guitar riffs. Perfect for the opening day of Notodden Blues Festival August 1, 2019.
Bigbang and its Captain Øystein Greni have been a part of the Norwegian folk soul so long that one can be excused for forgetting which impressive track record they have behind them. The classic "Girl in Oslo" climbed to No. 3 on the official charts already in the year 2000 and since 2003 all 6 album releases have gone to the top. Bigbang is often rightly called one of the country's best live bands, and it is in the meeting with the audience that the trio is really at their best.
The audience at Notodden has previously shown that they greatly appreciate Øystein Greni & Co. Already in 2000, Bigbang filled the house at their concert at Notodden Blues Festival. Since then, they have enjoyed our audience many times.
When Bigbang releases new material and runs the machinery for a full 6 years after "The Oslo Bowl", there is every reason to believe that we will experience a band that does not hold back when they go out to present old and old new hits. With almost 12 albums and hundreds of concerts under the belt, Bigbang has remained on the top longer than most and eventually has a song catalog that holds many favorites. With classics such as "Girl In Oslo", "Wild Bird", "Fly Like A Butterfly" and new "Glory Chord" on continuous lines, Bigbang will secure top festival atmosphere in Hovig's Hangar already at the festival's opening day on August 1st.
