Prisen som deles ut av den internasjonale organisasjonen Blues Foundation er å regne som bluesens svar på The Academy Awards. Det var stående ovasjon i en fullsatt sal da Notoddendelegasjonen ble introdusert.
- Det er helt tydelig at festivalen vår er både godt kjent og anerkjent også i USA. Dette var utrolig moro, og en stor brusende fjær i hatten for alle som har bidratt til å etablere NBF som et internasjonalt varemerke. Jeg kan ikke annet enn å si at dette var et fantastisk anslag for det nye festivalåret for vår del, sier daglig leder i Notodden Blues Festival Runar Lia. Denne hedersbevisningen som "årets beste internasjonale bluesfestival" må ses på som en ny milepæl for Norges Knutepunktfestival for musikksjangeren blues.
Notodden Blues Festival 2011 blir arrangert i perioden 4. – 7. august, og forløpige bookinger inkluderer Dana Fuchs, Vidar Busk & His True Believers og Hans Bollandsås.

Notodden is a sister city with Clarksdale Mississippi. Exchanging bands and musicians for more than a decade has lead to many projects. These projects range from young Mississippi musicians attending our Youth Seminar to the Blues Music Award winning recording made by Super Chikan together with musicians from Notodden.
This KBA also provides us a unique opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the most remarkable little Blues Town of Notodden, Norway.
We thank Notodden, its supportive citizens, dedicated politicians, the many enthusiastic and engaged volunteers, our faithful audience and all the extremely talented Blues Artists that have traveled around the world making Notodden the Best of People and Blues.
