Live recording from Notodden 2016 nominated for  the Blues Music Awards

For many, the concert with Wee Willie Walker was one of the undisputed highlights of the Notodden Blues Festival 2016. The concert was so good that the musical director Kid Andersen decided to release it as an album.

It has now been announced that the album "LIVE! Notodden Blues Festival, Norway" with Wee Willie Walker & The Greaseland All Stars is nominated for a Blues Music Awards in the category Soul Blues Album of the Year. The live  recording was done by NRK P1 with Jan Erik Tørmoen and Per Arne Flo as technicians.  Norwegian Kid Andersen was musical director, and horn section consisted of Telemark musicians Tron Taalesen, Andre Kassen and Vidar Torbjørnsen.

It's really tremendous that the concerts at Notodden Blues Festival are so good that they are published and given attention in this way. I would also really like to commend NRK P1, which makes some amazing concert recordings at Notodden.  We are also very happy that this band was put together especially for Notodden Blues Festival, says Festival Director Jostein Forsberg.
There is also reason to applaud the Kid Andersen’s nomination for Blues Music Awards in the category Guitar Player of the Year. Here he must compete  with American guitarists like Joe Bonamassa, Ronnie Earl, Monster Mike Welch and  Bob Margolin.  Margolin will be performing at Notodden in 2017 with Musselwhite Margolin Chicago Allstar Showcase.
